Not content with his win on stage one of the Tour of the Mediterranean Johnathan Locke went on to win the final stage today and took the overall race win. This is a fantastic start to his season with Endura Racing and is great evidence of Jon building on his success in the Tour of Britian last year. Those hard intervals on the tough roads around South Devon and Dartmoor are clearly paying off! Great start to 2012 02/10/2012

In light of our consultants external commitments we have decided to focus our services on professional athletes for the coming year. This comes as a result of i-Performance’s achievements in 2011 whilst providing scientific and medical support to professional athletes who achieved many successful performances through the year. We will continue to provide these services in 2012 as our professional athlete group has expanded significantly. We hope that those interested in the services of i-Performance will continue to follow us and gain a unique insight into our work through the website. If you've not been following the daily analysis of Rapha Condor Sharp rider, Andy Tennant's power files then you might have missed his team's success in this year's Tour of Britain. Although the eventual winner was dutchman, Lars Boom, Jonathan Tiernan-Locke came fifth overall and won the King of the Mountains competition. Kristian House and Dan Craven were active in a number of race defining breaks and Zak Dempster achieved top ten performances on a number of stages. Unfortunately, Graham Briggs was forced to withdraw on stage 5, but showed great determination having only be selected for the team after a late withdrawal from Ed Clancy. We hope the riders and staff at Rapha enjoy a well earned break after a very successful season. If dominance in the male events wasn't enough, Helen made it a clean sweep of the elite world champion titles by finishing 2nd to Andrea Hewitt on the tough Beijing 2008 Olympic course. Team GB will enter the Olympic year with 4 athletes ranked in the top ten! Brownlees take 1st & 2nd 09/10/2011
Another successful World Cup Series for both Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee. With a win for Alistair and 3rd for Johnny in Beijing the brothers end up at the top of the pile for the 2011 series. A great season in preparation for London 2012. Also, fantastic result for the U23 men with Matt Sharp taking gold ahead of David McNamme and Tom Bishop showing the depth of ability in GB men's triathlon. | David Baileyi-Performance exercise scientist ArchivesMarch 2012 Categories |
